Personality: Decimus is a career soldier thus highly professional in every aspect of his life, he is calm in the face of danger to himself and to others and will always act in the best interest of the Reman Empire. Decimus is a very loyal man to both the Empire and his Imperator, not the sort of man you'd see fleeing battle or shirking dangerous duties. He is happy when in the presence of his Son and Wife, and when in the presence of Lord Gallius, but seldom ever at any other juncture has the man been seen to smile.
Character History: Decimus was born within the port town of Ferrus Portus to his father Senator Magnus Augustus and his mother Cassandra though was quickly moved after the pregnancy to the Capital of Ostia along with his mother when he was of traveling age. His first memories of his father were of a sit-down dinner that the three of them had as the senator led a busy lifestyle. As soon as Decimus became old enough to enroll in school he was sent to the finest military academy of Ostia though he had trouble making friends at first due to his shy demeanor. This was quick to die as the methods of the academy forced the children to form connections or fail as part of their learning. The academy's courses included those on culture, history, tactics, physical fitness, and martial skill.
It wasn't until he was ten years old until Decimus began to take exceptionally well to the lessons provided by the academy, outpacing his fellow students in many of their studies and proving his worth to his father Magnus. This was also the age in which Decimus could finally join the mock skirmishes and was when he discovered a natural knack for the Sword. During each of the different objective-based mock smirmishes Decimus would pick up his sword and carry the fifth-year class to victory time and again despite only minimal training from the Legionaire that had been assigned to the class to teach them weaponry. He would make two good friends during the next five years until graduation, his future wife Thylia who was the daughter of a commander as well as his good friend Flavius who would stick with him years later.
Upon his sixteenth birthday, as was custom within House Augustus, Decimus joined the youth brigade that served the roman legions on the field of battle much like knights were werved by squires. The Youth Brigade would only ever see battle if the enemy somehow broke all other lines of defense provided by the Legion and were equipped with a Legion's Gladius and Lorica Squamata should the need ever arise for it's use. Decimus was joined by Flavius Septemus as well while within the Youth Brigade however when both became promoted to full Legionaires at age twenty they were assigned to different legions. Decimus would come to serve among the second legion of the Remus Empire, eventually rising to lead one of the centuries making up the second cohort of the Legion.
Eventually the second cohort's centurion was slain in action during an attack on an underground labyrinth filled with undead abominations and that was how Decimus was finally promoted to position as Centurion of the Second Legion. Decimus was twenty-six years of age at the time and was given leave within the capital of Ostia, being met at the gates by Thylia. Decimus had finally come to the realization that he loved Thylia and began courting her. Eventually the two would have a gorgeous marriage ceremony and Thylia would bear a son for Decimus named Cassius, now three years of age. Decimus has been promoted to serve in the illustrious First Legion as centurion of one of it's cohorts and makes his way back to Ostia when not on duty.
