Name: Raitō Minamoto
Race: Magic-Touched Lightning)
Age: 31
Appearance: See Below
Origin: Capital of Kyoto-Ten, Grand Shogunate of Cathay
Notoriety: 10
Rank: A
Affinity: Lightning, Water, Wind, Storm
Inventory
Personality: Raitō is known in two mannerisms of persona; first as the dispassionate, nonchalant ruler of a nation and genius strategist of a general that while caring, is known for his tough love approach to governing both a nation and a battlefield. Raitō demands excellence from his subjects, whether be in the battlefield of life or the battlefield or war; known both to reward those who show excellence and coach or punish those who do not live up to their potential. This is however, just one side of the coin that is Raitō, as he is known to those who have managed to become close to hih, as a caring and kind yet also casually aloof individual much like the gentle winds.
Character History: Born the only son among four children from his father Rakurai Minamoto, the previous Shogun of Cathay and his mother the famous former actress Suzu Hirose, Raitō was born with his mother's sterling green eyes and ambiguous good looks. though taking his light brunette hair-color and stern jawline from his father. Raitō was always pampered by his mother while his father Rakurai was always focused on undoing the spoiling that his concubine did and at-least attempt to turn his only son into a good ruler. It seemed that more of Rakurai rubbed off on Raitō that he would have thought, however, as Raitō ended out becoming an upright individual that was prone to bouts of Aijo (affectionate demeanor) specifically when dealing with the opposite sex.
Raitō was trained from five years of age in the ways of the Samurai and in the swordsmanship of Bushido by one of the greatest Daimyo of his father, Toyotaro Hideyoshi. The training of Toyotaro was brutal, attempting to ingrain discipline and tactics into the mind of the youth who it seemed only wanted to live carefree. The training seemed to be of some use, as the boy chose to enter Hideyoshi's service as a Senshi Pikeman at the age of ten and received further training during the next six years which all youths are required to serve. Raitō unfortunately didn't make any friends due to his status as the son of the Shogun, but suprisingly didn't receive special treatment.
Upon leaving the service as a fully-decorated Samurai, Raitō would work another four years in the Shogunate Tax Office, learning skills which would be necessary would he become the next Shogun. Raitō wouldn't make any friends here either, though would at the least come away with skills in arithmetic and statesmanship. Leaving the tax office with a large sum of money, Raitō left the known lands of Cathay to learn under the greatest swordsman known across the land, Seihiro Hijikata. It would take until he was twenty-eight to finalize the lessons and become known as a master of the Hiten Sentou bujutsu. After this, Raitō returned to Kyoto-Ten only to find his father had become ill.
His father Rakurai, having contracted a disease which eats away at the body until death, declared that it would be Raitō who would follow his death as the next Shogun - to which many Daimyo contested due to the fact that historically it had been the Daimyo who elected the next Shogun and Rakurai's case had been peculiar as the past Shogun had been grooming Rakurai to become Daimyo and Rakurai had in-fact taken over the charge of the military when the previous Shogun had been slain in battle. Raitō stated he'd take on any comers for the position in a tournament, and the Daimyo were appeased. During the tournament, Raitō brandished his new skills to become the ultimate victor and became the next Shogun.
